PERSONALITY

Apathetic
Hikaeme rarely shows emotion or intense reaction even when in the most dire of situations. He remains a very passive individual and tries to avoid being the center of any attention. He almost never volunteers himself or provides his own opinion unless ordered to or asked, and even then he won't comply for just any person. Hikaeme doesn't take interest in trivial matters, and is very indifferent to childish antics and inappropriate behavior. This attribute often presents him as a cold person, which he often may be, but actually Hikaeme takes on situations seriously and objectively.

Loyal
Hikaeme remains loyal to his comrades and superiors and carries out his orders completely and without question. When allied with an organization or in a small task force, Hikaeme cooperates fully with other members and works to achieve the central goal. He focuses strongly on his objectives and will use whatever forces necessary to dispatch of obstacles. He recognizes those superior to him and remains faithful and respectful towards his comrades.

Merciless
When it comes to defeating opponents, Hikaeme will execute cruel and brutal methods without hesitation. He shows no mercy nor pity for those who stand in his way of achieving specific goals or completing objectives regardless of age, gender, past predicaments, relations, etc. Hikaeme's cruel nature doesn't sprout from deeper feelings of anger or hatred, but rather from the resolution that missions and battles should be carried out and waged as effectively and efficiently as possible.

HISTORY

Kurosawa Hikaeme was born as an only child to the parents of a very large and extended family in Iwagakure. Not all members of his entire family were shinobi, and those who were weren't all successful or skilled in their abilities. However, it seemed that each member of Hikaeme's immediate family stood out as prominent shinobi among the best of the village. His father was a recognized leader of an ANBU sub division while his mother was an elitre Jonin with a niche for Iryo-ninjutsu. Hikaeme was very interested in the power each of his parents seemed to possess and observed both parents carefully.

The years Hikaeme spent at Iwagakure's Academy consisted of Hikaeme spending virtually all of his time on his own. While the rest of the children made friends and socialized, Hikaeme trained himself in the ninja arts. Early in his years at the Academy, Hikaeme proved to be somewhat of a natural genius, easily comprehending the techniques that were demonstrated and performing them almost perfectly with the slightest of practice. Shortly thereafter, Hikaeme graduated from the Academy and was promoted to the rank of Genin in a 3 man cell. He was 10 years old.

The Jonin sensei of the Genin squad was astounded by Hikaeme's performance. He accomplished his missions spectacularly and work extremely well with his squad mates. Still, one thing about Hikaeme greatly worried his sensei. As the time Hikaeme spent in the Genin squad progressed, the sensei became more and more aware of Hikaeme's true personality. He noticed that Hikaeme often took things "too far" to complete his missions, even if it resulted in the most desirable solution. However, due to Hikaeme's all around skill, the sensei brushed it off and recommended him for the Chunnin exam.

The Chunnin exam was very similar to the exam of Konohagakure many years ago, and it was in this exam that Hikaeme's teammates saw just how far Hikaeme was willing to go. When Hikaeme's squad encountered their first opposing team that held their desired scroll, they watched as Hikaeme swiftly killed each opponent. Even after obtaining the scroll, they were shocked by Hikaeme's brutality. From that point they continued to observe Hikaeme's cruelty, as every team that challenged them for their scrolls was struck down. In a very short time, Hikaeme's team was the first to reach the check point, and they suddenly became fearful of Hikaeme's potential.

The rest of the Chunnin exam proceeded in a similar manner as Hikaeme overcame each obstacle put before him. Ultimately, he was promoted to Chunnin rank and recommened for a spot on an ANBU squadron. He applied and was quickly accepted. For a few years, Hikaeme served as a member of the ANBU under the direct order of the Tsuchikage, and became efficient in the art of assassination. It was also during his time in the ANBU that Hikaeme learned some very important historical information about his ancestral lineage.

A very long time ago, Kurosawa Tatsumaru, one of the main ancestors of the Kurosawa clan, had discovered a sword in the depths of a cave. At first, it seemed like an ordinary blade, but when Tatsumaru grasped the hilt, the true power of the sword awakened. An ancient demonic spirit had been sealed into the blade, and it possessed an extraordinary and cursed power. For quite sometime, the spirit would plague the mind of Tatsumaru, and drive him to commit mass homicide in order to satisfy itself. When Tatsumaru had regained his senses and resolve, his sealed the sword into a special scroll and cast it into a deep gorge, hoping that no one would ever find it again.

Hikaeme further learned that only a person who possessed a direct blood lineage to Tatsumaru could unlock the scroll and wield the sword's power. However, all this information seemed trivial, and Hikaeme did not pay further attention to it. It was during one mission that everything seemed to come together full circle.

Hikaeme was chasing a target marked for assassination, a shinobi that was far more superior to the ones he had faced before. Hikaeme pursued him for quite sometime, eventually following him into the depths of a deep gorge. At the bottom lay a large open area, with no other exits for the target to run. In an effort to escape pursuit, the target decided to face Hikaeme head on. A long, evenly matched battle pursued, with no apparent victor in sight. Suddenly, the target left an opening that Hikaeme cruely exploited in one attack that left most of the gorge caving in. As Hikaeme stood over the body, he had noticed an object a short distance away, uncovered by the falling rocks from above.

As Hikaeme approached the mysterious item, he noticed that it was a special scroll. Regarding it as a former possession of his defeated opponent, he picked it up. When he grabbed the ribbon to untie the scroll, it glowed brightly before turning into chakra and dissipating into nothing, as if a seal had just been released. From what he had seen, and judging from where he was, Hikaeme began to wonder if this was the scroll that Kurosawa Tatsumaru had discarded all those years ago. Sure enough, The scroll contained evidence of a number of sealing techniques designed to keep something locked away.

Hikaeme recounted the story he once overheard, and became curious as to find out the true power or existence of such a weapon. He placed his hand upon a seal embedded on the scroll and released the fuinjiutsu. When the last of the seals had been removed, the cursed sword was summoned onto Hikaeme's hand. As soon as he grasped the hilt, he felt a mysterious dark chakra flow through his body. Suddenly, a voices began to cloud his mind, each one possessing a demonic presence. The sword demanded to be fed souls of the living, or else it would destroy Hikaeme. it told Hikaeme that if it served him, then it would bestow unto him an extraordinary power. Intrigued by the threat and promise of the spirit, Hikaeme obliged. He took the sword and travelled to the nearest, populated village.

Hikaeme had never returned to Iwagakure. When scouts were sent out to search for him, they discovered the remnants of his "village visit". Once the Tsuchikage heard of Hikaeme's atrocities, he branded him a Nukenin targeted for assassination. Since then his whereabout have been unknown, although he has associated himself with the deadly Nukenin organization "Asamoya".
