PERSONALITY

Shioni has scary personality fitting his creepy looks. In his speech, his non-verbal communication, in every aspect of his ways does he detest life and all what it has to offer, or so it seems. Despite his continuous comments on everything after all, Shioni has never considered taking his own life away. Whenever someone questions the fact he is still alive, the pessimist answers with unclear muttering or cursing. Another unclear thing is the reason behind Shioni joining forces with the Asamoya. Shioni himself claims he joined because he prefers wrecking irritating factors around him rather than benefit them, though many people see this as a lame excuse for a larger plan.

Though his foul language hides it well, Shioni is an intelligent individual. As can be recognized in his battle style, the criminal rarely counts on his physical qualities and focuses on long ranged trickery and tactics. He appears to posses a great deal of knowledge, especially about the theories behind Genjutsu and Genjutsu, and has an incredibly memory for details. Rather than tell people clever stories however, Shioni prefers to remain silent and moan, covering his wits from most around him.

Shioni makes an excellent soldier, taking orders withing complaints. Whatever it is he has to do, whoever it is he has to eliminate, he does so with pleasure. In fact, neutralizing his sources of irritation seems to be one of the few things that pleases the criminal. Despite his mask of depression, Shioni secretly seems to enjoys more things than just destruction. He appears to grow fond of certain people over time as well, though he never shows. Also, the subjects Ninjutsu and Genjutsu tend to catch his interest.

HISTORY

Shioni was born in a rather unfortunate position, being a member of the Takanami Clan. Whenever a clan like the Takanami shows up, it is either praised for its abilities or hated for its appearance. Unfortunately, for the Takanami Clan, the second option has always been the case. "Whiteskins", as they are often hatefully referred to by certain shinobi from Kirigakure, have always been a subject of public discrimination and humiliation. As a child, Shioni too had to cope with this. Local youngsters often refused to play with the little boy, his home was more than once a target of vandalism, and his elder siblings often came home covered with bruises. It was simply the chaotic and poor village of Kirigakure releasing its stress upon an innocent clan with an alternative appearance. This practiced influence on Shionis, already weak, character at an early age.

Since he was 6, Shioni attended to the academy. He proved a smart little fellow, obtaining excellent grades and picking up, especially theory, at a faster rate than his peers did. Though teachers knew better and treated Shioni as he deserved to be treated, many peers still held a grudge against the young Takanami. In return however, Shioni had developed the carefree attitude of a loner, not being bothered about anything the others did or say. He detested them all and simply followed his own path: that of a shinobi.

At the age of 12, Shioni graduated and became a Genin. Once again, he was teamed up with children who were learned to hate the Takanami and a sensei who respected the boy as he was. Day in day out, this stimulated Shionis negative personality to hate his surroundings even more. At the beginning of every mission, he would state to the fellow Genin how much he disliked them and that he was forced to cooperate with them. Though every mission, he hardened and grew stronger. In fact, at one point, Shioni proved to be the strongest of his squad, excelling at aquatic combat, which was often fought in the moisty lands of the Water Country. He got ahead of his peers, being weak at Taijutsu but, very unusual for a Genin, being great at Genjutsu. Therefor, at the age of 14, his sensei allowed him to join the Chuunin Exams before his fellow Genin did.

Fortunately for Shioni, the Chuunin Exams were held in Takigakure those days. In the Waterfalls water-rich arena's, Shioni was allowed to do what he did best and beat one opponent after another. Due to the incredibly advance of having a lot of water at his disposal, Shioni looked somewhat more powerful than he actually was and was promoted to a Chuunin at the young age of 14. People in the exams admired him, praised him for his skills at Genjutsu. Back in Kirigakure however, he was once again in an underdog position.

Little boys grew up and, at the age of 19, Shioni became a Jounin. His fellow shinobi had also grown up and learned not to discriminate the Takanami for looking different. Shionis personality however had been permanently damaged already. With every new person he met, he immediately assumed the worst of them. Under the motto "surprise me", he'd cooperate with them and wait for them to show their true nature which, due his pessimism, always turned out to be against his likings. Not only people, but pretty much everything the village had to offer suffered Shionis criticism. He was an unpleasant person to be around.

As a Jounin, Shioni had certain information at his disposal. Soon enough, he'd learn about Asamoya and was even given a mission to hunt the criminals down. Rather than slay the organization, Shioni decided to join them, figuring the dark side fitted his ideals better than the wretched village he came from. Serving Asamoyas cause these days, Shioni makes a formidable Nukenin.

Name: Bushin no Jutsu ~ Clone Technique

Description: Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique which every ninja learns at the Ninja Academy. The Bunshin technique creates a copy of the ninja without substance. The copy resembles the ninja in every way. This clone can function as a distraction or as means to confuse one's opponent. As soon the Bunshin gets attacked or comes into contact with an opponent, it will disperse.

Description: Kawarimi no Jutsu is a basic Ninjutsu technique. When in danger the ninja will quickly substitute themself with another nearby object. This can be a block of wood or even another person. This allows the ninja to quickly flee and hide while the original object takes the brunt of their opponents attack.

Name: Uogan ~ Fisheye

Description: The Uogan is the Doujutsu of the Takanami Clan. It turns the eye completely white, aside from a large, teal-shaded circle in the center of the eye. Unlike most other Doujutsu, it is permanently activated and produces no strain for the user.

The Uogans abilities are rather simple, yet benefit the Takanami greatly during combat. The first and most obvious trick of the Uogan is its ability to pierce through water reflection. Objects in water tend to seem positioned differently as they truly are, making aiming difficult. The Uogan nullifies this illusion and allows the Takanami Clanmember to accurately hit targets inside the water and vice versa. Second, the Uogan seems to prevent eye irritation under water, allowing the user to see clearly under water for extended periods of time.

Name: Suisei Chousei ~ Aquatic Life Regulation

Type: Kekkai Genkai
Description: Suisei Chousei is the bloodline limit of the Takanami Clan. It permanently alters the bearer of the Kekkai Genkai in such a way it makes his skin pale white (making them harder to see under water) and incredibly smooth (reducing friction to a minimum to reach higher speeds). An useful ability of the pale skin is that the clanmember can run chakra right underneath it to trigger a conveyor belt-like effect. The chakra underneath the clanmembers skin will push the surrounding water away and allow him to quickly move through water without having to waste chakra on a technique or even move a muscle. Trained clanmember can use this to reach torpedo-like speeds and jump great heights out of the water.

Name: Aogen: Touei Ikasama ~ Blue Illusion: Reflection Trickery

Description: Touei Ikasama is a clever Genjutsu technique used by Shioni. After forming the required handseals, the he spreads his arms and unleashes a minor wave of chakra that allows him to manipulate the vision of all humans within a 30 feet radius. He does so by changing the image their brain receives in a way similar to the way water bends incoming lightrays, causing the targets of the Genjutsu to see everything positioned slightly left or right from its actual position. Though this has no influence on wide attacks, it can easily cause an enemy to miss on accurate attacks. The technique can simply be dispelled by preforming "Kai". The victim usually only realizes he is under the Genjutsu when he misses for the first time, though.

Name: Aogen: Shingai Gawa ~ Blue Illusion: Deepsea Casing

Description: Singai Gawa is a supplemental Genjutsu technique used by Shioni. After locking eyes with the target, the victim will suddenly see his surroundings fill with water and will find himself located under water. Everything will appear to be the same, aside from the fact the victim seems to be under water. No other sense but sight is affected. The most obvious use of this technique is a setup for an incoming suiton attack. This is because, due his underwater surroundings, the victim has a hard time seeing water based attacks (after all, water in water is nearly invisible), allowing them to hit more easily. The only way to escape the Genjutsu without Shioni canceling the technique seems to be either receiving physical pain or simply leaving Shionis eyesight.

Name: Aogen: Shingai Dekishi ~ Blue Illusion: Deepsea Death by Drowning

Description: Shingai Dekishi is a one of Shionis most powerful Genjutsu techniques. After forming a couple of handseals, Shioni locks eyes with his target. Suddenly, both of them will find themselves located on the bottom of the sea. While Shioni does nothing but stand still and maintain the illusion, the victim will find himself incapable of moving even a finger due the immense pressure of the illusionary water. In addition, the victim will find himself incapable of breathing and will slowly lose consciousness. In real life, both Shioni and his victim do nothing but stand still, until the victim passes out. When he does so, Shioni lifts the technique and moves in for the kill. The victim can lift the technique himself by preforming "Kai". This would require him to form a handseal however. Doing so while under this techniques influence requires both immense physical as well as mental strength.

Name: Aogen: Genjutsu Touei ~ Blue Illusion: Genjutsu Reflection

Description: Genjutsu Touei is a technique developed by Shioni himself to fight fellow Genjutsu specialists. When an enemy attempts to cast a Genjutsu upon Shioni that enters Shionis mind through his eyes, he channels chakra into his large, fish-like Uogan eyes and forms a barrier. This can both defend him from an incoming technique as well as it can prevent an opposing Genjutsu user from reversing or canceling the technique through eye-based counter Genjutsu. Unfortunately, the barrier is not completely perfect and fails to fend off Genjutsu above B rank.

Name: Kaatsu Jinmon no Gen ~ Increasing Pressure Interrogation Illusion

Description: Kaatsu Jinmon is a Genjutsu technique used by Shioni, which can be triggered by locking eyes. Once active, all Shioni needs is eyesight to maintain the Genjutsu. Opponents under the Genjutsu will find themselves suffering from increasing mental pressure. This can reduce their efficiency in combat, preventing them from using techniques they have not fully mastered or forming complicated plans. When used in interrogation, it can be used to break an opponents will and force him to honestly answer Shionis questions. The time it takes to break a target however depends on his strength of mind. It can vary from a mere 5 minutes, for cowards, to 45 minutes, for persistent opponents.

Name: Shinnyo Bushin no Gen ~ Absolute Reality Döppelganger Illusion

Description: Shinnyo Bushin is a strange Genjutsu technique used by Shioni. After making eye contact, Shioni and his victim will appear to swap places. In addition, Shioni appears to have taken his opponents body, while his opponent finds himself inhabiting Shioni. Both the ninja are rendered incapable of preforming either Ninjutsu or Genjutsu, aside from Shioni, who is capable of lifting the techniques effect up. All they can use is Taijutsu, which skills they, despite the change of bodies, still hold from their original self. The technique is lifted once one of the two are hurt. Both shinobi will find themselves standing on their original spot, unharmed.

Name: Suigen no Jutsu ~ Water Illusion Technique

Description: Suigen is a simple Genjutsu technique to further improve the Takanami Clans camouflage in the water. After forming a handseal, they cause their body to become somewhat transparent and merge with the water. This allows them, as long as they remain under water, move stealthily without having to fear attacks from above. Unfortunately, once the clanmember leaves the water, he will look more like a transparent blob than an actual invisible person. This makes the techniques use limited to aquatic combat. Also, chakra detecting eyes can see through the camouflage.

Description: Utakata is a Genjutsu technique utilized by Shioni. He will start this technique by using only one finger on his right hand. His target does not have to look into his eyes, a glance at the hand itself will be enough. Once inside the illusion, he can control the visions the ninja sees. This illusion can also be used to play on the fears of the target, causing them to see and hear those who they care about degrade them.

Description: Nehan Shouja no Jutsu is a Genjutsu technique that allows the caster to place a large body of people into a unconscious state. The target can avoid the spell by forming and using the dispel skill, though this would require the victim to be aware of the incoming Genjutsu.

Name: Damarikomu ~ Sinking into Silence

Description: Damarikomu is a simple Genjutsu technique used by Shioni. After whistling, he enters the targets mind through the sense of hearing. He uses the opportunity to toggle off the opponents sense of hearing for roughly 30 seconds, which can have various tactical purposes as well as simply confuse them. Shioni can also preform it on himself to escape loud noises or prevent incoming hearing-based Genjutsu.

Description: Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique that utilizes water to create a Bunshin clone. Unlike a normal Bunshin, the Mizu Bunshin has the ability to interact more with the environment due to it having physical substance. This allows the clone to carry out limited attacks on its target. The range of the clone is limited however, it can not travel very far from the original body. If the Mizu Bunshin is injured, the clone will usually revert back into its natural water state.

Description: Suiton: Suimadan is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Water Element. While holding a handseal, Shioni can spit numerous tiny balls of water at his opponent at a rapid succession. These balls have a bullet-like effect upon impact, capable of badly hurting and bruising the target. A variation of the technique involves Shioni holding the handseal longer and gathering more water, after which he releases a larger ball of water with a cannonball-like impact.

Description: Suiton: Chika Mizu is a supplemental Ninjutsu technique used by Shioni. After forming a serie of handseals, he places his handpalms on the ground, causing groundwater to rise and soak the surrounding soil in a 30 feet radius. If there happens to be a large hole or gutter nearby, water is more likely to flow to that open space and fill it instead. Shioni can then use this water to benefit his performance in combat. Unfortunately, the technique tends not to work in dry regions and cannot be preformed twice at the same location within roughly a week.

Name: Futon: Raheki ~ Wind Release: Lightning Barrier

Description: Futon: Raheki is a Ninjutsu technique involving the Wind Element. Shioni uses it while he is located underwater to prevent lightning techniques from hitting him. As electricity enters the water and rockets towards Shionis location, he forms a handseal and unleashes a small shockwave of wind. This pushes away nearby water for a moment, stopping the electricity-conducting water from touching him for a moment. When timed right, this prevents the current from hitting him. Unfortunately, high-ranked Raiton techniques seem to have enough force to jump from the water, through the protective air layer, to Shionis body.
