PERSONALITY

Yuhi is a kind and sensitive young man, who is very difficult to anger. The farthest people have angered him is that he'll hit the nearest inanimate object and that was only two of them. Most people just get no reaction out of him, which both annoys and scares them. He turns rather sadistic and cruel when angered. He has only been truly angered three times in his life, and two of the fools are dead! The third disappeared... He is truly terrifying when he loses his temper, as he kills without hesitation. Yuhi is the kind of person who blends into the background and is underestimated, which is why he can terrify people when angered. He pretends not to care, and seeks revenge in spectacular ways at a later date. He is very quiet and observant; along with nearly perfect at hiding his emotions, which allows him to effectively be the perfect spy or diplomat. He has a tendency to be usually right about whatever he voices an opinion on and no one can really read him. He reacts pretty well to authority, but he can't stand incompetence. He rebels if someone who is in authority is incompetent and doesn't listen to reason. He gets pissed off if a leader can't remain calm and think clearly in a crisis, as he sees that as a form of incompetence.

He is kind of shy. He rarely lets people see his true self, but keeps people at a distance. It appears that there is a wall between him and everyone else. This is because people were always jealous of him and took it out on him. He learned early on that letting people in only gave them a weapon to use against him. He makes true friends very slowly. The few people he is truly friends with, he's very loyal to, willing to sacrifice himself for them. He is very fun to be around though, and he has no problems hanging out with acquaintances. He is also extremely loyal to the village. This is why he can disappear without saying anything, and the only warning bells it sets off in the kage's head are the "Did he just find out of some danger to the village that he's gone to eliminate?" or the "Is he hurt?". The kage knows that he will never betray the village, and if he disappears there is a very good reason. He is also willing to sacrifice his life for anyone he cares about.

HISTORY

Early childhood
Joi was very lucky. He was born into a powerful clan, at a time when there was no internal power struggle. He was a cheerful child.

He began to show symptoms of the Mizuno bloodline as early as the age of two. He'd began to play with breezes on windless days... His bloodline was found to be one of the few- since Atsou's- to have the potential to reach Stage 4. His mother taught him the basic training every clan member with potential undergoes, something which was exceedingly rare. Shizune only took on the brightest kids as students, students that had potential which surpassed that of most of the clan jounin.

By the age of seven, he had mastered close combat and the senbon launcher. He was also well on his way to mastering the katana. He decided that he'd graduate to genin on his eighth birthday, though he'd reached that level by the age of six. He'd been much more mature than most kids and they had realized he'd never fit in with the rest of the rookie genin. It was safer for him to wait, which he understood. He was in no hurry to graduate anyway.

Genin years
He became a genin at the age of eight. It was difficult selecting a pair of genin who wouldn't be alienated by his strength and abilities. He was put in a group with Hikari Miyazawa and Rei Asukura. This was because he was beyond what any clan jounin could teach him about his bloodline, and the rest was just plain developing of his existing abilities. Hikari was the daughter of a pair of former anbu, and had therefore received prior training. Rei's father was a sand ninja and his mother was an ancestor of one of the greatest Konoha medics. They were the only genin- without a squad- that could keep up with Yuhi. He was also assigned Ryoma Yukamura as their jounin. Ryoma was related to the Kariya clan from his mother's side of the family, and had a some of the clan bloodline, but had only reached Stage 2. He could only use Stage 1 safely, and anything past that caused him to collapse after using, sometimes into a coma. Of course, half the reason he was their jounin was his immense understanding of the bloodline. Though he could not reach the further stages, he had studied those that could, and was the clan's leading expert on the bloodline.

Mitsu trained hard, and mastered the clan's katana style by the age of nine. By the age of ten, he could easily fight hand-to-hand or with a katana with his eyes closed. He was actually better with his eyes closed... He'd learned that eyesight was actually detrimental in battle as it had a tendency to give a false perception since it could easily be fooled. He trained blind-folded to the point when he closed his eyes, he could hear everything even better than normal and sense/feel exactly what parts where being moved around him.

Chuunin Exams
They took the Chuunin Exams when Mitsu and Hikari were ten. Rei was eleven.

  • They all passed the First Exam easily, as Ryoma had made sure they were well educated as well as strong.
    
  
  
• Round Two
  • The Second Exam was also a piece of cake, since Yuhi was good at ninjutsu. Hikari was best at genjutsu, and Rei was the squad medic. They were all good at taijutsu, thanks to Ryoma, who didn't believe in relying on just jutsu. They got through it covering for each other's weakness, and they barely broke a sweat because of their great team chemistry.
    
  
  
• Round Three
  • The Third Exam was hard for them, as Yuhi ended up facing Hikari in the first round. As much as he didn't want to hurt her, he would not lose! He unleashed all his speed, and struck her with his sword- making sure not to hurt her- from behind. He maneuvered her into a face-down position with his blade directed to pierce her carotid artery. She resigned and he moved on. Rei had no such problem with his opponent, as Jinta was a weakling genin. In the second part, both Yuhi and Rei passed. Luckily, they didn't have to face each other.
    
  
  

Chuunin Years
He became a chuunin a week after his tenth birthday, and was put in the same group as Rei, much to his happiness. Then again, they were the perfect team in terms of chemistry. They could communicate non-verbally with each other. Each knew what the other was suggesting in terms of battle strategy. The two years passed rather uneventfully.

When Rei was thirteen, he was taken into the medical unit. Yuhi was very happy for his friend, and a few months later, Yuhi was accepted into the ANBU. He had been selected because of his self-control, and his potential. He was already among the strongest Chuunin in the village. His ability to create very effective battle plans and find his opponent's weaknesses was highly respected. As was his mastery of swordmanship. They gave him a series of three tests.

• Test 1
  • He was asked to fight Shusuke Aoi, one of their most gifted young ninja. Shusuke was a jounin who specialized in genjutsu along with weapons. At first it looked like Yuhi was antagonizing him, with his hit and run tactic, but as the match progressed it became clear it wasn't what it had seemed. In one decisive stroke, Yuhi lured him into a trap he had set. The trap was a web of razor-sharp winds in the middle of the room that he maintained by chakra. Shusuke resigned.
    
  
  
• Test 2
  • The second test was a creativity/ intelligence test. They left him in a burning building with another ninja, a medium sized bucket of water, a sturdy rope, and whatever stuff Yuhi had in his pockets. As a safety precaution, the ninja specialized in water style ninjutsu. He also had orders not to interfere unless it was to save Yuhi's life. There were a bunch of other ANBU surrounding the building and making sure the fire didn't spread to the trees, since they were in the middle of a forest. The task was to escape from the building without using any jutsu. Yuhi realized that the building was burning at the bottom, but it didn't look like there were any fires on the higher floors. He led his companion to the top floor and tied him to his himself with the rope. Yuhi put on his brass claws, climbed onto the windowsill, and told the ninja to hold onto him. Finding the tree that was closest to them, Yuhi jumped. Nearing the tree, he stuck out his 'clawed' hands and slowed their fall. Near the bottom, he pulled out and caught a lower branch. He had severed the rope just before the branch, and caught the ninja's arm. The ninja ended up really freaked out but alright, as he'd not expected to go flying like that. They were both fine and Yuhi passed.
    
  
  
• Test 3
  • The third test was a battle with the ANBU's commander. Yuhi lost badly, as he was no match for someone with the mastery of a Sharingan back then.
    
  
  

He passed and spent time training with the commander periodically, in order to learn to fight a Sharingan-wielder and win. He spent the next two years doing basic missions, and finally, was sent on a espionage mission. He was gone for the next five years. He succeeded well beyond the mission, and caused the evil organization he'd infiltrated to collapse through their own infighting. They didn't realize it had been his doing.

Jounin Years
He returned at the age of nineteen. Soon, he was promoted to jounin, just after his twentieth birthday. He spent most of his jounin years on various espionage and deep-cover missions, with a great degree of success. The only mission that wasn't successful wasn't a failure due to him. His partner had caved under interrogation and revealed him as a spy. Jin had also revealed almost everything else about the mission, and Yuhi had been forced to kill him. He had nearly completed Stage 2 of his bloodline, and he used it to cause an immense fire, which engulfed the whole building. The few who'd succeeded in getting out, were eliminated by Yuhi while they tried to flee.

He left the ANBU, but was still considered a member. He continued training his bloodline, as well as genin. He occasionally went on high-risk missions when no one else would do. Usually it was infiltration missions. It was his forte, but he deeply disliked them.

He has reached Stage 3 and is nearly to stage 4. He is the only one in his clan- since Atsou- to come this close to the final stage.

His last genin squad included his younger sisters- Ritsu and Yuruichi- who are not particularly gifted, but quite smart and hard-working. The third genin is Kai, who is rather gifted with the bloodline, but prefers taijutsu. They are now Chuunin, with the exception of Yuruichi, who is still a genin.

Now...
On his last mission he was requested to rescue the previous Daimyo's eldest son. The boy was being held prisoner in an old castle for a ransom. The ransom wasn't for money but for power. Yukari Shin was a man who had raised an impressive force in order to seize control of the country. The capture of Daichi was their first step.

Yuhi arrives with his group of highly-trained ninja and set up a his blockade. The group consisted of two Mizuno Jounin- Haruhi, and Reichiro-, four of the most skilled ANBU, and one of Yuhi's clan leaders and his dad- Daisuke.

They lured them out of the castle by blocking the supply lines and forcing them to come out and confront them. They killed them as they came out, except for the two hanging on to Daichi. One of them was also the leader.

Haruhi set the building on fire as soon as Daichi was out of the building, and Yuhi set a cage of fire around them. He activated the "Divine Wind" and attacked Yukari. After a long battle at a near stalemate, he released his "Wind Seal" and after that Yukari was not even close to a match. They rescued Daichi and returned him back to his father. His father would never forget Yuhi, the brilliant squad leader who outsmarted one of the most clever murderers (in his opinion) of that time.
