[/li][li] Hikkikomori - A hikkikomori is the Japanese term to refer to an individual who spends most of their life indoors, generally doing nothing productive - hence why the term is generally connected and applied to otaku. While Sei, is not a hikkikomori, he was compared to one for writing sake.SYNOPSIS
Messy blue hair, bookworm look identifies him from the crowd. Naive looking, but his wit is as sharp as his tongue. Books are knowledge - yearning everything there is to know. This bookworm's appetite is not easy to fulfill.

PERSONALITY
When you take a look at this boy, you may want to squeal. You may want to quickly hug him or smother him with love. His look is childish and naive looking. However, looks are deceiving. Sei, is simply not what people expect. He's a cold child, interested in getting what he needs done. Does he care about people? Depends on the person we would be discussing in question. With his ability to lie and his quirky and uncanny ability to manipulate others, he often finds himself quickly able to get what he wants.
Sei, is far from normal. He looks as if he's your stereotypical nerd - loves to read, can't get a date, blah blah. Like a book, a simple glance shall not do. You will have to learn everything about him to understand his views and the like. To sum it up, Sei minds his business. He does not care how short some girl's skirt is, he does not care about the amount of homework he was enslaved to complete. He just does what he was requested to do, and will rarely ever complain about it. As a matter of fact, the boy is rarely ever seen complaining. He generally keeps his mouth shut and his nose stuck in the book pages his eyes were glued to. When you have books, why waste breath trying to speak? Yes, Sei is a true bookworm. He craves knowledge, almost obsessively, and could not possibly live on without it! Learning is his pleasure, his devotion. He yearns to learn. One could almost compare Sei to a hikkikomori, with his odd tendencies and way to act.
He dislikes people. No, he's not some sort of sociopath, but it comes to the point where he dislikes excess company of people. Not to mention that being in a room with too many people messes with his mild claustrophobia, it also annoys people. Sei himself has found himself in odd predicaments where he had to bicker about things he considered common sense to those who weren't as endowed intelligence wise. The fact that he's someone narcissistic, makes his ability to work with people challenging. While most will not deny that Sei is intelligent and knowledgeable, especially for his age, the boy often pictures himself above others. And it simply does not work that way in life, not at all.
His blue eyes are ice, often being caught giving people cold glares. The glares are cold enough to cause shivers down their spines, make their small bodies tremble in ecstatic fear. While Sei is not apathetic, he can be often found with small periods of melancholy. While he never viewed himself depressed, he at times finds himself with no type of enthusiasm. He's childish in a way - he doesn't want to show his feelings. The worry if he'll make a good enough shinobi burdens his young mind. Shinobi aren't supposed to show their feelings. Look at the great ninja in the previous legends. They weren't people who giggled and hugged one another. They were assassins, warriors, and they did their job with no care. Their lips dared not to quiver into a smile - they weren't supposed to.
So the boy often comes to the point where he's in an everlasting drama called Life - attempting to muster and play a variety of roles of old heroes. Underneath the wall of his cynical and coldness, he's actually a very endearing person. However, it'd take years before anyone could even catch a small glimpse of his true personality.
Sei is no fool. He knows when to keep his facade up, and when to act his true self to get what he wants accomplished. He respects those who he believes deserve respect - not those who foolishly parade with a whimsy headband and a title. If you deem yourself worthy, he might give you some respect. Might being a key word here. Generally, teachers, Jounin, and other important shinobi in the village get the utmost respect - after all they are the ones who will be watching him as he grows up. Everyone else gets treated normally - a small nod of existence, nothing more. His parents are the exception to the latter rule, as he sees that nothing would benefit him from not treating his parents with the utmost care and respect.
A simple student in the Academy, he yearns one thing. To be a shinobi. He puts up a good facade, no?
HISTORY
A young couple had found themselves in love, after tugging at each others' heartstrings for long enough. The mystifying couple lived in the peaceful, yet hot, land of Sunagakure. The woman herself was only a mere twenty-five, and despite the warnings from her parents, she viewed herself as a woman. Surely, she could handle things on her own - that meant having a child as well. Twenty-five was relatively old in her eyes - people were having kids much younger. But times change and somehow, your offspring always think differently than that of which you do. The girl, or shall we say woman, was a Chūnin and worked in a hospital as an intern. Her devoted lover was a Jōnin himself, often doing a variety of tasks and missions assigned to him by the Kazekage himself. After they got married, Ami - his new wife, settled down. She soon found herself pregnant and altered her husband Daisuke. He was thrilled of course - and who wouldn't be?
Their child was born on the coldest day that Sunagakure had ever faced - and it was at night as well. The humidity of the desert was gone, nothing but sand and cold winds. They decided to name him Sei, thinking it was a fitting enough name for him. Their young boy grew up different. He didn't cry a lot as a child; rarely did the mother ever have to wake up in the middle of the night and soothe the young one. He learned to speak and walk much quicker than other children as well, speaking semi-literate sentences around the age of three and four. It was peculiar, but the parents were proud. Feeling no need to be modest, they were not afraid to show everyone their baby boy.
As his mother had finished her internship as a medic, she began working at the hospital completely. She had a whole entire library devoted to the Medical Arts themselves. In her youth, she had been and obsessive bookworm. Obviously, old habits die hard. Whenever she felt as if she needed to brush up on her skills, she would take a peek at the books. Her son got his mother's brains and habits. He loved when his mother read to him and often, Sei would attempt to read the books. He would choose mythology-based books and stare the pictures. They were often stories of the brave shinobi who fought in Sunagakure, or just shinobi in general. The idea of being an assassin appealed to the boy. He wanted to be just like them.
As he grew older and learned how to read, it was pure bliss. Sei could rarely be found without a book by his side - a book was his company, his friend, a companion. The longer and lengthier the book and its pages were, the more captivated he became. On his eighth birthday, his father presented him with one divine question. "How would you.. like to join the Shinobi Academy, Sei?
The boy gleefully accepted and began at the Academy. While he loved to learn, he had never really interacted with his peers. It was unusual being in a classroom full of kids and actually having to work with them. It annoyed him to no end - his cold nature and tendency to know the majority of answers made him disliked. He was once locked into a cupboard, inducing his claustrophobia. An unusual child, with a heavy facade up, and of course glossy-eyed as he scribbled down his answers.
