SYNOPSIS

Rinri Odoshi is a Konoha-born shinobi who currently leads an organization known as the Freedom Fighters. He is known as "The Twin Blades of Justice" and leads the struggle against the Shogun. His position leaves him constantly at odds with the shinobi nations and any place under the Shogun's grasp.

PERSONALITY

A MAN OF CHARACTER, Rinri has strict principles. Harming a non-shinobi is something he will only do as a necessity. He has a deep sense of honor, and in one-on-one combat will normally stick to the way of the samurai, or Bushido. However, this conflicts with his desire to protect his friends and allies in the Freedom Fighters and guerilla operations normally do not conform to the direct approach of the Samurai.

A SOLITARY MAN, Rinri is at home when it is peaceful and quiet. He often meditates and trains extensively alone. He rarely trains in public, and feels strange when doing so. One of his favorite phrases is: "Speech is silver, but Silence is golden." Rinri enjoys intellectual conversations as well as games of Go and Sho.

HISTORY

Rinri was born to a moderately wealthy shinobi family. Because of this, he lived a leisurely life. The most difficult thing for him to do was go to the academy, which wasn't very difficult. As he graduated from the academy and began to go on missions, he realized the pain and burden thrust upon the commoners. They lived in poverty, and worked day in and day out.

He questioned his squad leader why they suffered so, yet only recieved dismissive replies or comments such as "Because they don't work hard enough". This angered Rinri, and became the sole motivation for his training; replacing his will to become a great shinobi was a will to become a great shinobi in order to help the people. He would donate much of what little salary he had to commoners he saw on missions.

During the Chunin exams, Rinri fought with an almost religious fervor. His squad was further motivated by his valiance and strove for excellence as well. They had retrieved the necessary scrolls with ease, and only had to fight one squad to do it. A failed ambush was initiated by a group of Suna shinobi, with one of them tipping Rinri and his squad off by sneezing.

The individual combat portion of the trials was also bested with ease by Rinri and his squad. His squad mates were defeated in rounds 2 and the quarter finals, however they continued to cheer him on. Rinri struggled, but finally made it to the final round. In this round he fought his toughest opponent yet, an Uchiha. The Uchiha clearly had the edge in ninjutsu, but Rinri's twin katana's were able to cancel the Uchiha's edge in melee provided by his sharingan.

After many minutes of fighting, Rinri was clearly losing. He was scraped up and slightly burned in several places. Despite this he never slowed. The Uchiha, as well as the crowd, found this quite amusing. In the midst of one of their many melee skirmishes, he asked Rinri: "Why do you fight?" Rinri replied unhesitatingly "To kill the Shogun!" the Uchiha flinched, allowing Rinri to cut his right eye. The fight was over.

Unfortunately for Rinri, his reply was heard throughout the crowd. He was quickly apprehended. He was to be brought before the shogun, and be executed. The trip to the palace was solemnly silent. The Birds of the sky did not chirp, the beasts of the land did not speak, and the insects froze where they rest. The five shinobi guards, all ANBU, did not so much as look at him. But suddenly, the silence was broken.

Out of the woods came dozens of arrows, downing the ANBU captain but dodged by the others as fewer were aimed at them. Then came dozens more, this time all of the ANBU went into the woods after the attackers. The sounds of battle were heard for almost half an hour. Steel upon steel, screams of pain, shouting, and finally dead silence was heard from that forest. The silence evolved into footsteps, and murmurs all getting gradually louder.

The footsteps stopped, and the door to his mobile prison was kicked down. He was surprised to see a mob of leather clad peasants armed with spears, bows, and swords. They told him they were the Freedom Fighters, guerrillas who wished to kill the shogun and free the people from the cruelness of Absolute Monarchy. they had heard of a shinobi that shared their cause, and went to his rescue. Over the years he went on to become their leader and trained numerous shinobi from the peasantry. Their cause grew, and eventually made plans to become official and start their own uprising...

Description: The Katana of the Setting Sun was forged by a master blacksmith under the employ of the Freedom Fighters. Like it's sister blade, it is forged from Chakra infused steel. The blade is 70 centimeters long, meaning it is larger than most, yet not awkwardly so. The handle is dark red and black.

Description: Hidden in the sleeves of a shinobi, the string of Kunai may be prepared beforehand and taken out in the midst of battle. It is usually used in conjunction with the jutsu "Manipulate Advancing Blades". Rinri has one string of Kunai in each sleeve.

Description: Fukumi Hari is a Ninjutsu technique utilized by Shizune. Shizune is able to call forth needles into her mouth and then spit them at her opponent with great accuracy.

Name: Hien - Flying Swallow

Description: Hien is a Taijutsu technique used by the Leaf ninja Asuma. Feeding his chakra into his knuckle knives, Asuma will extend the length of his blades. An extra extension of invisible chakra will create a sharp edge that functions like the normal blade itself. Seeing his knives his opponent may misjudge how far they need to move to avoid an incoming strike. Even if they manage to avoid the metal portion of the blade, the chakra portion may cut into them as well.

Name: Kage Bunshin no Jutsu - Shadow Clone Technique

Description: Kage Bunshin is a Jounin level Ninjutsu technique. When Naruto stole the scroll of seals, he learned this technique as well. The normal Bunshin technique creates a copy of the ninja that lacks any substance. The Kage Bunshin distributes the ninja's chakra evenly among the clones and creates a real copy with form and substance. The clone itself can also utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows. When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained is passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones. This makes Kage Bunshin an excellent training method if the ninja has the chakra capacity and stamina to maintain the Kage Bunshins for an extended period of time. This allows the ninja to essentially reduce the time it takes to train and learn with each clone added. This is especially true when used with Tajuu Kage Bunshin.

Description: Sanzengarasu is used by Konoha ninja Yamashiro Aoba. Aoba will call upon a murder of crows, these crows will fly around the target, causing confusion with their dark forms and quick movement. A comrade of Aoba can move within the flock wearing dark clothes and wielding a dark weapon almost undetected. With the target distracted by the crows, the ninja can strike more easily. Also the mass of crows can obscure any retreating ninja. When no longer needed, the murder of crows will simply puff away in smoke.

Description: Karasu Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique used by Uchiha Itachi. This technique allows Itachi to create a clone composed of crows. The Itachi clone can disperse into multiple crows, which still maintain his consciousness. This allows him to speak and react while in crow form.

Description: *Located behind the left eye, the Inital gate is the first of the eight celestial gates; it's not rare for a jounin who uses a good deal of taijutsu to know how to unlock this gate. Occasionally others will learn to break it as well. This gate is usually broken in order to perform a needed devestating attack or for a self boost to get out of a sticky situation; keeping this gate unlocked for an extended period of time puts a lot of strain on the muscles.

Description: *The Heal gate is located behind the right eye, it is the second of the eight celestial gates. As any taijutsu specalist knows, battle can be dangerous, if a shinobi is taking a beating they may choose to unlock the Heal gate, which allows them to shrug off a good deal of damage and even make their body function better for a while.

Description: *The Life gate is the third celestial gate, and the first of the forbidden ones; the unnatural endurance granted by this causes the user to barely even register pain, as such they would not give up easily in a fight, even if they are horribly outmatched. Located near the top of the spine, this gate furthers the endurance of the user. This gate grants some minor healing when opened as well.

Name: Boomerang - Boomerang

Description: Boomerang is an attack utiling Fûton. The user will throw a projectile such as a katana or a long stick, using Fûton they will make it spin and return in the event of a miss. This attack can not be used with items such as a shirken or apple or other items. It may only be used with projectiles of the appropriate shape and size (This obviously wouldn't work with trees or straws)

Name: Tsubame Gaeshi - Swallow Reversal/Return

Description: The "Turning Swallow Cut" or "Tsubame Gaeshi" (燕返し lit. "Swallow Reversal / Return"), and was so named because it mimicked the motion of a swallow's tail during flight as observed at Kintaibashi Bridge in Iwakuni. This cut was reputedly so quick and precise that it could strike down a bird in mid-flight. The "Turning Swallow Cut" has been reconstructed as a technique involving striking downward from above and then instantly striking again in an upward motion from below. The strike's second phase could be from below toward the rear and then upward at an angle, like an eagle climbing again after swooping down on its prey.

Description: Oboro Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilized by the Rain Genin team lead by Oboro. Oboro Bunshin is a normal Bunshin technique that created approximately a hundred clones of their Genin team. Due to the number of clones created, Oboro and his team can take the opportunity to hide from their target. To attack their target they will hide in the shadows of the clones and attack from underground.

Name: Senpuu Gekijoo - Whirlwind Fury

Description: Senpuu Gekijoo is Sword Technique utilizing Gravity and usually Fûton to overwhelm the foe. The user will first leap into a corkscrew spin and then slash repeatedly at the enemy. This attack is always used with Fûton when used by it's creator, Rinri Odoshi. The combinations of wind, furious slashing and gravity make it possible to knock a weapon out of an opponents hands with ease; assuming the enemy is of a relatively similar strength.

A variation of this technique may be used with kicks rather than a sword, though it is more difficult and is less powerful as well.
